Enlarged breasts would make any man feel embarrassed and self-conscious. Though it is rarely talked about, it’s actually quite common, affecting approximately 40 to 60% of men. It may affect either both breasts or only one. There is no known cause in the vast majority of patients. Thanks to recent advances in liposuction techniques, including External Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction, Dr. Hynes is able to achieve excellent results using tiny incisions which fade with time. Gynecomastia can be surgically treated by removing excess fat, glandular tissue and/or skin. Following the surgery, the chest is flatter, firmer, and better contoured. The surgery is done as an outpatient in the safety and privacy of a hospital and lasts usually about 1 hour. The patient will return home the same day. The result is a better masculine-contoured upper body and the patient has the self-confidence to lead an active normal life.
